The housing aspect of 'Rebuilding Rwanda' consists of a prefab housing prototype that would be manufactured in the onsite factory, acting as a model for future prefab housing developments as well as making it cost-efficient to build additional student housing units for the technical school.
The concept of a standardized steel frame makes it feasible to create simple yet versitile modular housing units through a factory production line.
The steel frames can easily stacked to create multi-story housing. Stacking in this fashion would be ideal for sloped sites such as the urban landscape within Kigali, which is defined by gradual-to-steep sloping hills.
