The proposed site for ‘Rebuilding Rwanda’ is located 8 km east of Kigali on roughly 100 acres of undeveloped land free of houses and farming plots.
The majority of the site consists of a gently sloping hill, while a smaller portion rests on the ridgeline of the hill. The terrain was ultimately the determining factor in the layout of the various buildings. The larger educational and production facilities are located along the ridgeline, while the smaller housing structures are placed on the sloped part of the site.
